The Fire Course

The Fire course has been designed to exist in harmony with the surrounding landscape and will be planted with a wide variety of dramatic flora that has been carefully selected to reflect the overall theme and to enhance the natural environment.
Throughout the Fire course, tees have been carefully placed to provide variety of length, direction and elevation, while the landscape’s natural features and topography are employed to provide even more challenging play.

Generous landing areas entice shots towards safety, but strong bunkering has been carefully placed to catch wayward strokes and force the player to concentrate fully on placement of the drive. Undulating greens will stress ball placement – going directly at the flag may not always be the best approach.

The Earth Course - By Greg Norman

Inspired by the great parkland courses of Europe and North America, The Earth course will greatly enhance the already stunning landscape. Indigenous flora and fauna will be promoted to underpin the natural environmental balance, while the course will incorporate lush, garden-like vegetation and traditional, swift-flowing water features to create an oasis of natural beauty.

These natural features will also serve to provide differing angles and changing perspectives from each tee. Trees and bunkers will guide the player along the course’s length, while at the same time protecting the ideal line. The meandering – and yet occasionally daunting – water features will be an ever-present factor when lining up the next shot, forcing a careful drive and constant consideration of ball carry.

The Wind Course - By Garcia, Dye & Norman

Wind takes golf back to its roots, with a traditional links-style course in which the power and energy of the wind plays a core role. With a varied range of teeing options Wind promises to pose a unique challenge to golfers of every skill-level. Tight fairways cushioned between rolling dunes allow little room for error with approach shots and well protected undulating greens ensure that precision is the key to unlocking the vast rewards of this course.
Wind will be created by a team whose collaboration is unique within the history of golf course design. It combines the excitement and raw energy of El Nino - Sergio Garcia - with the power and skill of The Great White Shark Greg Norman, and the experience and wisdom of The Maestro Pete Dye, the father of modern golf course design.

The course is Sergio Garcia's first design project - and his partnership with two of the most experienced designers in the world ensures Wind will take the level of challenge for Dubai's golfers to new heights.

Water Course - By Vijay Singh

Contrasting with its desert surroundings, Water will feature abundant lakes and water features that are carefully positioned to ensnare the unwary golfer. The course will wind through naturally vegetated dune troughs, following ribbons of wetland. The dunes themselves will be vegetated with native salt-tolerant tall grasses and sedges, for a natural look, and oasis and pond areas will be fringed with palm trees. This approach is unique in Dubai, and will result in a challenging, traditional course that very dramatic in both appearance and feel.

A variety of teeing options allows for a wide range of course lengths, from 7,500 yards down to less than 5,000. Greens are open in the front, but pin placements are closely guarded. The many hazards - many of which are, naturally, water hazards - have been strategically placed to challenge longer hitters, while allowing shorter hitters a little more space. Throughout, the course will accommodate a more conservative approach, while at the same time tempting more aggressive play with a high risk-reward balance.
